Krantz Recovered Woods is a specialty lumber company which markets, sells,
manufactures, and ships its virgin growth Cypress and Longleaf Pine products
direct to the public, nationwide.
Our history with cypress goes back three generations to the early 1920’s.
During that time, Onezime “Bess” Krantz was cutting and selling cypress
on his land along the Atchafalaya River in southern Louisiana. Everyone
knew they would get more than they paid for with Bess.
In the 1970’s, Onezime’s son James began milling cypress lumber
products in Louisiana, selling it to homeowners and contractors for their
building projects throughout the South. James’ son Jimmy spent summers
working alongside Dad from the ripe age of 9.
In the 1990’s, Jimmy built custom cypress homes and then in 1997 founded JIMMY’S CYPRESS
(www.Jimmys-Cypress.com), the Internet’s
largest selection of cypress wood products.
Soon after, Jimmy and wife Emili began KRANTZ RECOVERED WOODS after seeing firsthand the incredible
beauty and quality of centuries old virgin Cypress and Longleaf Pine. The company finds
and recovers old sinker logs at the bottom of the lakes & rivers and old beams and lumber
out of America’s pre-1925 buildings. The Manor facility handles sales, marketing,
manufacturing and distribution.
